A collection of traditional, high quality barn conversions that offer fresh and modern spaces, reflecting the rustic charm of the former farm buildings

Grouped around the original farmyard layout, this new community of six, high quality barn conversions has transformed a former dairy farm set in the beautiful west Cornwall countryside.

Following careful consideration, the barns have been renovated and reorganised to create spacious family homes full of original features.  Accordingly, they now offer fresh and modern spaces which reflect the rustic charm of the former barns.

Our designs considered the flow and function of the main living spaces, whilst working within the historic fabric of the buildings.  Without compromising their inherent character and form, the barns have been adapted to make them fit for modern living.

Significantly, new build timber frames within each house allowed for state of the art insulation and ground source heat technology to be incorporated, providing superior thermal efficiency.

Sympathetic to the heritage of the barns, external finishes include local Pentewan stone, lime mortar pointing, larch relief panels and hardwood windows and doors.  In addition, further responding to the agricultural vernacular, roofs are a mixture of natural rag slate and modern zinc.

In order to encourage a sense of neighbourhood, a central, communal garden has been planted with silver birch.  Planting beds, chipping pathways and rustic benches complete the landscaping and assimilate the new community into its rural setting.
