Practice

The Bazeley Partnership is a long-established practice of architects working throughout Devon and Cornwall, delivering award-winning design excellence on a wide range of projects.

As a Royal Institute of British Architects Chartered Practice, we are a highly experienced team of architects, architectural technologists and technicians.  We combine a wealth of knowledge and skill to find innovative, creative and sustainable solutions to produce outstanding results.

Our guiding principle is contextual design and intrinsic to this is understanding the importance of location.  As a result, each project is considered carefully in its immediate and wider landscape, whether extending, restoring, retrofitting or building anew.

Culture

Promoting the development of healthy and low-energy buildings lies at the heart of our designs, which embody the principles of Passivhaus, Building Biology and Permaculture.

Additionally, our process of conducting regular internal design reviews ensures quality and consistency of service.  Every project receives the same rigorous creative exploration of spatial relationships and user experiences, with the aim of adding value to our client’s brief.

Heritage

Originally founded in Falmouth in 1911 by C R Corfield, The Bazeley Partnership has a long and distinguished history of architectural design throughout Devon and Cornwall spanning over 110 years.

Subsequent mergers with many notable architects included Geoffrey Bazeley, a prominent Modernist Architect.  His designs for Tregannick House, built in 1935, have been described as “one of the best Modern Movement houses in the West of England”.  Another renowned addition was the celebrated Eden Project architect, Jonathan Ball.

The extensive legacy of the practice is embedded in the modern history of Cornwall and Devon, and includes a diversity of projects ranging from historic buildings to factories, schools, health care facilities, fire stations and army barracks.
