Located within the original Heligan Country Estate, adjacent to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and overlooking the picturesque Mevagissey Bay, the five-star guest facilities at Heligan Caravan and Camping Park provide exemplary, fully accessible facilities that enhance the Holiday Park’s status as a top tourist destination.

Our client’s brief was to replace existing, outdated buildings which no longer fulfilled the Park’s high expectations. The conceptual design focused on sustainability and longevity to deliver a pair of buildings that have a minimal impact on the environment and can withstand the coastal environment and intense year-round use. The relationship between the buildings and their immediate and wider landscape was a driving factor in their design, with a low profile and materials chosen to blend into the backdrop of the protected landscape and mature planting for which the Lost Gardens are famous.

Internally, the spaces were designed to feel generous, luxurious and be well-lit. Natural daylight enters through rooflight glazing, which also ensures privacy for the surrounding campsite pitches.

High levels of insulation and underfloor heating throughout ensure a comfortable environment year-round, and shower blocks, drying room, dog shower, launderette and washing-up area allow visitors to enjoy the benefits of a home away from home.
