Full scale project for home in St Mawes
Voted one of the “hippest” places in the UK for 2018 by Travel Supermarket, St Mawes is only a short ferry ride from Falmouth. Famous for being a quaint, Cornish fishing village, it boasts world class holiday accommodation, stunning coastal scenery and traditional Cornish charm in abundance.
Described by The Idle Rocks Hotel Head Chef, Guy Owens as “A good, delicate balance of old natural Cornwall and sort of newer money coming in, so there’s an air of kind of luxury”, it’s no wonder it’s gaining momentum as a tourist destination.
For those fortunate to already be living there, as homes are hard to come by, sea views, tranquil settings and the Cornish way of life is almost even incorporated within the buildings.
The Bazeley Partnership has been contracted to design and construct a 3 bed, 3,000 sq ft, family home on this unusual plot of land. With its sloping nature, our architects have had their work cut out for them, but with slopes come height, exactly what you want for utilising the outstanding coastal views.
Currently in phase 1 of construction, reinforced concrete foundations are being laid, with retaining walls creating the shell for this dream home. The super structure will be out to tender over the next couple of months, completing phase 2.
