St Columb Minor Academy, Newquay

St Columb Minor Academy in Newquay commissioned architects at The Bazeley Partnership to develop a design that would expand the school from 15 to 19 classes and provide a specialist music room facility, as recommended by the Ofsted Survey Inspection Programme.

The proposed building has a contemporary appearance with large pitched roof with upper storey accommodation within. The south-eastern elevation has a flat-roofed area above the single-storey music room and ancillary spaces. Large areas of glazing provide optimum daylighting levels into classrooms and circulation spaces, with smaller rooflights and windows providing daylight to offices.
