Rock RNLI, Cornwall

The new Rock RNLI facility was conceived as a discrete contemporary structure set within the sand dunes of the Camel Estuary.

The curved wave-like roof is constructed from zinc with the external walls being a mixture of local stone and render. This single storey construction provides housing for the D-Class lifeboats and launching vehicle.

It is a Discover Station, open for public viewing during the Summer months. The building received a Civic Trust Commendation in 1999.
