New Home, Bude
The design for a new and contemporary two storey dwelling has been developed by The Bazeley Partnership to replace an existing 4-bedroom, detached dwelling in Bude.
The new scheme proposes to provide the client with a replacement dwelling and garage following the demolition of the existing building on site. The proposed contemporary dwelling and garage are to be sited over the footprint, and in the same position and orientation on site, as the existing building.
Our client – who also owns the adjacent Grade II* Listed Maer Barn – briefed The Bazeley Partnership to design a modern, comfortable family home for him and his family. It was essential for the new dwelling to have a low-energy function that is well integrated into the site.
Maer Lake is located in the field to the south of the dwelling site and the existing dwelling enjoys wide, panoramic views from east to south-west. The new design is intended to provide a modern, private 4 bedroom detached dwelling and 3-port garage, designed to meet the brief requirements of the client, as well as integrating into, and maximising the potential of the large site and its stunning views of Maer Lake and the surrounding countryside.
The proposed scheme will provide not only a much improved dwelling and garage than the one it is to replace, but a contemporary dwelling of high architectural merit.
