Private Wine Cellar
This Private Wine Cellar was designed by The Bazeley Partnership to sit within a new replacement bespoke dwelling in a stunning location. The previous dwelling that once occupied the site was of a typically 1950s style and construction. Both it and the adjacent car port had little architectural merit, nor were they worthy of retention or repair.
Our client wished to replace these dilapidated buildings a new two storey dwelling and separate garage building. It was designed to be sympathetic to the surrounding area and was inspired by the Arts & Crafts style and work of CF Voysey.
The residence makes extensive use of traditional stonework architectural features in cut granite. The exterior walls were finished in a more roughly textured granite ashlar stone set on a black brick plinth.
