Otterburn House Extension, Bude
This Otterburn House project involved architects at The Bazeley Partnership being commissioned by a client in Bude to create a contemporary extension and glazed link to an existing older property that provided additional space and light.
Conceptually, the extension was conceived as a mirrored footprint of the existing cottage. Similar in height and span it reflects the same roof form.
The extension, however, was deliberately separated from the original dwelling by means of a glazed link – a device that has been successfully employed in a number of conservation projects and is accepted as an appropriate solution in ensuring a separation between old and new.
