Lynstone, Bude: Conditional Planning Approved
The Bazeley Partnership has been granted conditional planning approval from Cornwall Council for a new double garage, workshop/home office in Lynstone, Bude.
We were appointed to design a scheme for a double garage with ancillary accommodation for a Bude based client who had a need for more space for family and friends visiting during the holiday season. The final design boasts a contemporary form which consists of two mono-pitch roofs that connect to a central stone stack. The stack is designed to mimic traditional Cornish stone walling, a profound feature in the area, while its purpose is to highlight the different use of space. Although the form is somewhat alien to the area, the materials proposed for the project include both natural and local materials such as stone, timber and slate to give the building a sense of place amongst its semi-rural setting on the outskirts of Bude.
The design very much follows the philosophy of being a bit different, but sensitive to its environment.
