Planning Permission for Longstone, St Mabyn dwellings granted by Cornwall Council

The Bazeley Partnership has achieved a planning consent from Cornwall Council for the construction of two 4-bedroom detached residential properties in Longstone near St Mabyn, Cornwall.

The intention of the proposed planning to construct two new dwellings of a scale and materiality in keeping with Longstone village, using high quality sustainable materials and providing adequate garden and car parking space. The proposals include outdoor amenity space to the front and rear of each dwelling and two parking spaces, including garage, per dwelling. Each dwelling is to have a pleasant rear garden with a south-facing aspect for sunlight, and a small front garden to provide privacy for the windows. Any potential overlooking issues to neighbouring properties are resolved through the careful siting of first floor windows.

The detached dwellings have a broadly vernacular appearance with small, symmetrical windows, porches, and natural slate roofs at a 35° pitch, in line with the character of the village. High-quality materials have been specified for the construction of the properties, including painted timber windows and doors, Lindab Aluzinc rainwater goods, timber cladding, stainless steel external flues and painted smooth render walls. These materials have been chosen both for their appearance, in keeping with the village character, and for their durability and ease of maintenance.
