Atlantic View in Widemouth Bay Shortlisted for 2016 Cornish Buildings Group Awards
The Bazeley Partnership are delighted to announce that one of our recently completed projects, Atlantic View, has been shortlisted for a Cornish Buildings Group Award!
This project involved the design and construction of 6 bespoke Eco cottages to replace a redundant holiday complex on the edge of the beach in Widemouth Bay, Cornwall. Included in this project were renewable solutions such as solar thermal panels, air source heat pumps and a Green Roof System.
The aim of the project was to successfully integrate the unique £3million Atlantic View into its setting on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, blending the cottages sensitively into the rural, wild heathland landscape of the coastal area.
The Cornish Buildings Group aim to stimulate interest, appreciation and knowledge of good buildings in Cornwall. They encourage the erection, protection, repair and recording of historic buildings, whether these are listed buildings or simply good examples of traditional building.
Patrick Newberry, Awards Co-ordinator for the CBG said: “The judges were particularly impressed with the way that the buildings have been designed to sit well in a very sensitive landscape, whilst remaining strong individual designs.”
Atlantic View will be viewed by the Cornish Buildings Group judges on the 24th April 2016.
We’re very proud to have acted as the architects on this project and are so pleased to have been shortlisted for the second year in a row.
